Panel & Reception: 9:15 – 10:00

What is the spark that lights a fire in some individuals to seek
opportunities to perform in front of an audience and share what inspires
them artistically? Whether it is transforming into a character and reciting words on a stage, standing on a corner with an acoustic guitar busking for a few extra dollars, or – literally – revealing yourself on stage through the art of burlesque, what is the inner drive of a performer? The Long Haul follows a troupe of male burlesque performers as they meld into a brotherhood of creativity and entertainment.

Following the screening of “The Long Haul”, the film’s creator, Amy Enser and cast members will join other performance artists from Kansas City, to discuss the creative process, and the life of a performing artist.

Stephen Wallace Pruitt and his wife and partner-in-film, Mary Settle Pruitt, firmly believe that just about anyone can achieve Hollywood-quality production values on any budget if they learn both what they should and shouldn't do during the filmmaking process and then make the efforts necessary to get things done "just right."
