Filmmakers are the heartbeat of the Kansas International Film Festival.

Cultivating careers is central to our core values and vision. KIFF supports early-career film artists as well as more well- known artists in the film industry. Accomplished and legendary auteurs have visited our fest. We’ve welcomed actor and activist, Ed Asner, horror icon George Romero, and special effects wizard Tom Savini. Experimental filmmakers Guy Maddin, Barbara Hammer, and Stan Brakhage, have graced our stages while liminaries like Debra Zimmerman, executive director of Women Make Movies have joined us. Many others from Scott Biao to Forest Akerman have stayed with us and many more will come. There is, of course, one we could never do without... you!
